Our Eastern Great Egret graphic was created by Gold Coast artist Melanie Glenister. We hold the Eastern Great Egret as a symbol of hope and change. During the 19th century, Egrets across the world were hunted down for their beautiful white feathers to use as apparel accessories. Through changes to human attitude and the law, the population of the Eastern Great Egret has now increased across Australia but is still listed as endangered in Victoria and Western Australia.
