I am a contemporary artist living locally in Qld Tallebudgera Valley. I love to dive head first into the beautiful world of colour and get genuinely excited about mixing paint, witnessing it make its home on the canvas and watching a painting unfold before my eyes.
Although I have painted as far back as I can remember, I have been painting commercially for 6 years. I initially began painting custom art for children's rooms and after moved on to larger abstract pieces. During this time, I completed many commissioned pieces and am honoured to have my art in houses all along the East Coast of Australia. Additionally, I love to share my passion for art with others by running art classes from my home-based studio, ‘Elkhorn Studio’ in Tallebudgera Valley. I feel honoured to be able to support people through their art journey.
I find I am instinctively drawn to painting nature based themes with organic shapes and natural elements which I believe is influenced by my long love affair with the Gold Coast Hinterland and my childhood living in both the Currumbin and Tallebudgera Valley’s. I am currently drawn to painting abstract art as it allows me to portray a certain mood or feeling, rather than painting something or somewhere. There is a certain freedom in that. And I am a huge fan of freedom.
I hope that others also experience a sense of freedom when viewing my art as I intend for it to be a place where eyes can escape and rest and minds and imaginations can wander.
All in all, I’m a colour lover, dreamer, painter, a big believer that nothing is ordinary.
